The things a compliant API cannot do
Meta’s Cloud API is the safe path, and for messaging at scale it is the right one. But it cannot touch a group, cannot use the number already printed on your shopfront, and cannot help you the day that number is lost. Other unofficial providers can do the first two — they are pipes, and the risk is entirely yours. WaveSenda is the unofficial route with the safety net built in.
| Meta Cloud API | Other unofficial APIs | WaveSenda | |
|---|---|---|---|
Remember what you promised Reads commitments out of your own conversations — "I’ll send it tomorrow" — and reminds you the morning they are due. The obligations, never a score of the person. | No. Conversations are yours to re-read | No | Yes |
Use the number you already have Your customers keep writing to the number on your shopfront. | A new number, and business verification first | Yes | Yes |
Survive losing the number A standby takes over with your agents, flows and open conversations — and the people mid-conversation are told where you went. | Not applicable | No — the number is gone and so is the history | Standby number, automatic failover |
Collect money in the conversation A secure card link raised from the conversation. No browser, no card form, no hand-off. Cards are there too, for anyone without a wallet. | A payment link that opens a browser | A payment link, if anything | Card by link, raised from the thread |
Sell in WhatsApp groups An assistant that answers only when addressed, and reads orders out of four hundred messages so you do not have to. | Groups are not supported | Send only, with no restraint | Answers when spoken to, captures orders for review |
Answer a voice note with a voice note Where customers speak rather than type, replying in text hands the work back to the person least able to do it. | Transcription is your problem | Usually unsupported | Listens and answers in voice |
Keep the number alive Pacing, warm-up ramps, a health score recomputed every fifteen minutes, and campaigns that pause themselves when it drops. | Meta polices it for you | A pipe. Your number, your risk | A deliverability engine that throttles and stops |
An assistant with a goal Close the sale, recover the order, book the visit — and know when to stop asking. | Build it yourself | Build it yourself | Objectives, with a bounded number of attempts |
Know when someone is reachable Built from when they have actually replied, not a global average. | No | No | Per-contact send windows |
This is an unofficial integration. It automates a standard WhatsApp account rather than using Meta’s Business API. That is contrary to WhatsApp’s terms, and a number used this way can be rate-limited or banned — particularly with unsolicited or bulk sending. Much of this product exists to reduce that risk. None of it eliminates it.
A login cannot be moved. A standby number is a real second number you link in advance, because WhatsApp credentials belong to the handset that scanned the code. Anyone promising to restore your banned number itself is promising something the protocol does not allow.
